SK Communications offers product design services to funded entrepreneurs and engineering managers in a broad range of industries. The common thread among our customers is their need to get a well-designed product to market using the latest technologies in an accelerated time frame.

We have designed high-technology products in Silicon Valley for more than 15 years, first as a product company designing and marketing our own product and then as a product design firm creating products for client companies.

Awards and Patents

Our designs are distinguished by their novel application of appropriate technologies and have been awarded numerous patents and awards.

One of the best known, award-winning products we designed is the Coinstar™ coin counting kiosk. Working with the founding entrepreneur, we created the architecture, designed the electronics, and developed the software for the production version of the kiosks introduced in grocery stores in 1993. Coinstar is now a public company with more than 10,000 networked kiosks and annual revenue of $156 Million.

Michael Lehr — Senior Hardware Engineer

Mike is known for his engineering versatility, one day designing a sophisticated algorithm and the next day testing a new board. He has expertise in signal processing, sensor development and FPGA design.

Steve Terry — Senior Firmware Engineer

Steve excels in team environments where collaboration and management of multiple developers are keys to success. He is recognized for his solid and maintainable code.

Natalie Johnson — Business Operations Manager

Natalie ably manages the day-to-day business operations of our firm, using her skills in finance, marketing and procurement.
